to our children, parents, staff, and the wider community. 

Our school will close,

Friday, December 19th, 2025, and will reopen

 on Monday, January 5, 2025. 

We hope everyone enjoys a restful and joyous Christmas, and we look forward to welcoming children back in the new year.🎅🎄🎉🦌🎄



Santa Claus Visit 2025


What a magical Visit!🎄🎅
Santa arrived at the Convent of Mercy N.S with the wonderful 
men from Belturbet Fire Brigade.  
The children sang, played tin whistles, and shared cards, messages &gifts with santa.
Every child got a special treat from Santa 🌟🎁

Science Week 2025

 We kick started Science Week ‘25 off early this year, as Scientist Louise visited the Junior classes last week.


The children learned about plant & animal cells, discussed and looked at these through a microscope .

Stay tuned for further Science Week activities when Louise visits the senior classes later this week.



Maths Week

 

➗➕Maths Week Fun 🧮🎲
This week the school was a hive of little problem solvers, as all classes joined in the fun of “ Maths Week”
Some of the activities included:
✅Maths Quizzes
✅Buddy Maths Trail
✅Designing a board game using numeracy & shape .
The highlight of the week for some of our classes was a maths trail throughout the town, exploring maths through shape,distance and measurements in the school surroundings




Junior Infant Autumn Nature Walk

🌳 Mighty Oaks From Little Acorns Grow”

Our Junior Infants set off on their first adventure of the school year to visit the Mighty Oak Tree!
🍁🍁They spotted lots of signs of autumn — colourful leaves, acorns, and even some shiny conkers. The children enjoyed collecting and examining their autumn treasures. 🍁🍁

Senior Infants Autumn Nature Walk

Today Senior Infants went on nature walk to explore the environmental signs of Autumn.


🍂🍂🍁They played traditional games around the chestnut tree beside the river and brought back their little finds of Autumn to display on our nature table .
